International PGR Conference on Psychoanalytically Informed Trainings

Saturday, 26 September 2026 at 00:00

Theme: "Innovation, Inclusion, Integrity"

Event details

Adult psychoanalytically-informed trainings are increasingly being challenged to innovate and adapt in order to remain accessible and resilient amid global disruptions such as pandemics and wars, and socio-cultural changes. While scientific and technological advancements have opened up new possibilities, they have also introduced significant challenges to a model of training historically grounded in stable and traditionally rigid frameworks.

Today’s global context is marked by volatility, insecurity, and contradictions - more interconnected yet increasingly fragmented, with shifting financial and geopolitical boundaries. As accessibility is constantly challenged, individuals who may have not been able to train in the past, have the right for provisions that are genuinely inclusive and not only performative.

In this complex landscape, it is more urgent than ever to ask: What unconventional challenges do contemporary training institutions and trainees face, and how can training models evolve to meet them? This conference seeks to explore how such challenges can be met-not only with practical solutions but also with openness to the ways they might enrich the training process itself.

We invite speakers and delegates to reflect on their experiences as trainees or training providers, both in terms of the logistical adaptations required and the reflective practices that have emerged in response. Together, we aim to consider how flexibility, creativity, and critical engagement can help shape the future of psychoanalytic education.
